Pacific Northwest Roadtrip '25
I have been holding off posting images from our PNW roadtrip. I wanted to write a post to go with the images. It's been a year since the trip now and I am starting to slowly forgot what I wanted to write. So I will start with the photos first and hopefully I will expand the post with more detailed text some time soon.

Auburn Old Town
Our roadtrip started in Auburn Old Town a tiny, charming-in-its-own-way town. Not much to say about Auburn really, and I probably wouldn't recommend visiting here if you are not in the area but I liked the first photo so had to post about it.

Mt. Shasta
After our quick walk in Auburn, we then drove on to one of the most memorable stops of our trip, Mt. Shasta. Interestingly, as breathtaking as the mountain views are, I'd say the Town Mt. Shasta at the skirts of Mt. Shasta is the part that makes this stop so memorable. The town has the mystique, this eeriness that is hard for me to explain in words.
On our way to Mt. Shasta we listened to all kinds of spiritual myths and stories that surround Mt. Shasta. Apparently it plays a big role in some circles of beliefs. So it's safe to say we were already on alert when we arrived to our motel.
It also didn't help that during the short two evening hours we spent outside our motel room, we saw two weird rituals being performed and a lady shouting "Jesus loves you!" while driving by me as I was taking a photograph.

Mt. Shasta Town
Leaving Mt. Shasta behind, we begin one of the most scenic sections of our roadtrip. Surrounded by threes for hundreds of miles, we won't see a big city or an interstate until we reach Portland on our way to Mount Rainier two days later.

Goodbye Mt. Shasta, Hello "Volcanic Legacy Scenic Byway"! (Yes, that's the official name of this lovely road.)
To be continued...
